Fans know Boo Seungkwan as one of the funniest members of SEVENTEEN. After all, Seungkwan happens to be part of the group's gag trio BooSeokSoon (BSS) along with DK and Hoshi. However, it looks like there are times when he could take things very seriously. For one, the main vocalist became upset when he failed a food challenge and had to watch as fellow Vocal Team member Dokyeom got an easy pass at the game.
The latest episode of Going Seventeen featured the members of the group participating in three different food challenges. In celebration of the New Year, they were served special New Year's food but with a twist. The first challenge required the idols to consume a serving of japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) in five seconds while using a utensil assigned to a number they chose. Meanwhile, the second challenge had them eat kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake) with a special ingredient added like cheese, tuna, mint chocolate ice cream, wasabi, or blueberries.
Interestingly, the third challenge turned out to be a favorite for the SEVENTEEN members. In the game, they would have to eat tteokguk (rice cake soup) along with braised short ribs and a side of young radish kimchi at a selected timeframe. Moreover, the rules stated that they were not supposed to go over a particular decibel level while eating their meal. For instance, Mingyu had to eat the tteokguk within two minutes and 30 seconds while not going over 85db.
Not surprisingly, Mingyu was able to consume his meal without any problem although he was told to stop when he put down his chopsticks and it went over the decibel level. By then, the rapper was done with his meal and was telling the other SEVENTEEN members how delicious it was. Because of this, Seungkwan was eager to get started on the challenge and was told to consume his meal within two minutes and 30 seconds without going over 60db.
Unfortunately, this proved to be too difficult for Seungkwan who immediately went over the decibel level just by picking up his chopsticks. Although he was able to get a bite of the short ribs, he went over the decibel level when he bit into the radish.
The hungry Seungkwan was understandably disappointed that he couldn't get more of the meal but became upset when DK was given five minutes with a decibel level of 1000db. Although he begged Dokyeom to give him a bite of the tteokguk, the latter simply ignored him. At one point, Seungkwan declared that, "Hoshi-hyung said that DK is kind but I don't think so."
Of course, it's just a joke between the members of SEVENTEEN. Hopefully, Seungkwan was able to eat some of the delicious meal once filming was over.
