Another big blow has come to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as reports revealed they are struggling to come to terms with losing an important royal role. After deciding that they need to step back from the royal limelight to live a more peaceful life in Canada, sources now say that they are shocked to learn they will no longer be Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors.

Sources told TMZ that Prince Harry and Meghan did not realize this particular royal role was also on the table. Early in January, Prince Harry sat down with Queen Elizabeth for a

long talk about their plans to scale back on their royal duties.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became Commonwealth Youth Ambassadors just before they got married in May 2018. Buckingham Palace announced that this role entailed creating links "between young people and youth leaders of the Commonwealth."

In their capacity as ambassadors, Prince Harry and Meghan were also expected to use this platform to address issues affecting the younger generation in the social, economic, and environmental scope. Prince Harry and Meghan's reach as youth ambassadors was across 53 Commonwealth nations.

This role was part of the royal family's effort to keep with the modern times. The source said that losing this was a hard pill to swallow, especially for Meghan who was quite excited when she received the honor from Queen Elizabeth.

On their trip to South Africa last fall, the Duchess of Sussex passionately spoke about how she intends to tap their reach in the Commonwealth. She was looking forward to bringing a new dimension to how the royals engage their subjects. She was keen on working on causes to empower women and help charities for vulnerable children.

Queen Elizabeth announced in mid-January that she agreed Prince Harry and Meghan may live in Canada and scale back on their royal duties. However, Her Majesty drew the line and said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were no longer expected to officially represent Queen Elizabeth in any royal engagement.

Aside from losing this royal role, Prince Harry also lost of all of his military affiliations and titles. He will no longer be expected to wear his uniform nor attend military honors.

According to royal observers, it was Prince Harry who lost more than Meghan in their arrangement with Queen Elizabeth. Prince Harry was most proud of his work as a serviceman where he had tour of duties in Afghanistan.
