Apple's latest AirPod Pro offering is something that has gained consumer attention, a reason why the demand for them has spiked. However, it appears the Cupertino company did not see this coming with reports that the latest wireless earbuds are pretty tough to secure nowadays.

Heading over to the Apple.com website and getting the AirPods Pro could end up leaving buyers frustrated. Orders placed now won't arrive until Mar. 3. Skimming through other online sites will also return the same result, indicating that the Cupertino company may have overlooked the demand for its wireless headphones.

Introduced last fall, the AirPods Pro is the first completely wireless headphones from Apple. They feature active noise cancellation and have silicone tips that allow them to stay in the ear better. This made it a must-have, especially during the holidays. They were sold out before Christmas. Folks who felt that stocks would be replenished by January hardly had any luck. Buyers who planned to buy one still had to wait for weeks before getting them, Cult of Mac reported.

Hence, it has become a game of chance. Apple does occasionally ship to stores, but there is no telling which ones, both online and retail, have them readily available. With most highly-populated areas likely to be without stocks, there could be better chances of getting one in brick-and-mortar locations. In short, folks who direly want to get one will have to do get a move on to secure their own pair.

Incidentally, the Apple AirPods Pro is on sale over at Amazon.com. According to BGR.com, they are available for just $230. But as mentioned earlier, buyers need to wait with shipments, possibly taking a week or two. For folks who direly want some wireless earbuds, there is an interesting alternative.

Sony's WF1000XMR Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earbuds with Alexa Voice Control could be worth considering. They are said to be better than Apple's AirPods Pro. The earbuds come with a better design, better sound quality, slightly better battery life, and much better noise-canceling technology. Best of all, they are priced cheaper at $198.

But of course, there are some who prefer to go with branding. There is no denying that Apple has outdone itself with the Airpods Pro, an obvious reason why the demand for them has surpassed forecasts. Hence, it would not be surprising if customers opt to get the AirPods Pro over Sony's offering - even if it means waiting for weeks.
