Queen Elizabeth is currently the head of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. She is the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch, serving the monarchy for over five decades.

There is no doubt that Queen Elizabeth is considered to be one of the most successful rulers in history. With that said, an earlier report once claimed that the Americans want to be ruled by Her Majesty again.

In 2015, Boris Johnson, who was serving as Mayor of London at the time, said that the US has a huge fascination with the Royal Family. The Conservative politician based his statement on his experience on his weekly LBC radio show, where he was bombarded with questions regarding the British monarchy.

“What does this show you?” he jokingly asked. ”Deep down, in a primal way, they regret the fundamental schism of 1776 and they wish that we were in a single commonwealth of English-speaking peoples again united under Her Majesty. That’s what they secretly want. They have been deprived of it too long, that blissful pride that goes with a hereditary monarchy.”

Since Queen Elizabeth and Boris Johnson seemed to have a good relationship, people were curious if they still keep in touch. One royal fan then asked whether he had not spoken to Her Majesty since then.

“I don’t get to see the Queen that often,” he said. “What do you think I do? Spend my whole time round Buckingham Palace sucking up to the monarchy?”

Boris Johnson is currently serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Although Queen Elizabeth is known for not getting along with previous Prime Ministers, she appears to be fine with the current one, although she remains politically neutral on all matters.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth’s relationship with previous Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was not ideal at all. It was reportedly complicated and sometimes awkward.

According to a 2015 book “The Queen And Mrs. Thatcher: An Inconvenient Relationship” by veteran television producer Dean Palmer, Queen Elizabeth and Margaret Thatcher “met and disliked each other on sight.”

However, Margaret Thatcher is not the only Prime Minister that Queen Elizabeth doesn’t get along with. Tony Blair, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007, didn’t have a smooth relationship with the royal family as well.

Queen Elizabeth and Tony Blair didn’t have a lot in common, so they would usually clash. Because of this, their visit was kept to a minimum.
