After weeks of being silent in their Vancouver Island home, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted in Miami on Thursday. It was said that the couple attended an annual JP Morgan event, wherein they were deemed to be "keynote speakers."
This was the Sussex couple's first public appearance since they left the United Kingdom a few weeks ago. Shortly after the conclusion of the controversial Megxit deal, nothing much had been heard then from the family of three.
According to Page Six, the publication that was noted to be the first one to reveal the details of the appearance, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry "turned up" at the "swanky" 1 Hotel South Beach on the night of the sixth. As the source claimed, their arrival was very "hush-hush" as they came with "a lot of security."
No further details were shared about their stay in the city. Even so, the publication said that the event is believed to be the annual JPMorgan Alternative Investment Summit in Miami. The attendees of the summit were revealed to be the billionaires and "high rollers" across the globe, like Bill Gates and Alex Rodriguez.
BBC News released a similar report revealing that a palace source said that the Sussex couple, especially the Duke of Sussex, "spoke at the event." It is believed that he talked about his "mental health," which is a subject that he always discuss in various engagement.
It remains unknown, however, if they were paid to do the speech. But, several publications are convinced that "gigs" like this will involve payments and fees as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now "financially independent."
JP Morgan was said to decline to comment on the matter. The same is also true for the spokesperson of the Duke and Duchess. As claimed, the representative said that they wish not to say anything about the private schedule of the royal couple.
Today, no one knows if the couple is already back in Canada with their son, Archie Harrison. Even so, some individuals believe that they will likely make a stopover in Los Angeles as this is where they are reportedly finding a place to stay.
Aside from a place for their summer vacations, it was also reported that they have chosen the area for the expansion of their Sussex Royal charitable foundation. Previous reports revealed that they are now looking for a new CEO.
