In 2019, the Redmond-based tech giant introduced to the public its first-ever foldable device, the Microsoft Surface Duo. Since then, consumers have not heard much about the device from Microsoft. A new video of the device may have revealed the possible specs and features that consumers could look forward to in Microsoft's upcoming foldable device.

Latest Microsoft Surface Duo Video

The latest video of Microsoft Surface Duo was shared by a Twitter user named Israel Rodriguez. The public appearance of the company's upcoming foldable phone was in SkyTrain in Vancouver in Canada, where Rodriguez was boarded. It appears that the device could be of a third-party developer or a Microsoft employee.

Several sites claimed that the Redmond-based tech giant has already given the device to some of its employees the Microsoft Surface Duo for testing. It is one of the reasons why we are now seeing images of videos of people using the device in public spaces. The most recent is the video of probably a Microsoft employee using the Surface Duo in landscape and portrait orientations.

In the video, the user is seen folding the device, which makes the hinge visible. Additionally, there appears to be a flash on the Microsoft Surface Duo's front camera. But, if we look back at the Surface Duo that Microsoft introduced last year, it seems that this is not the same as the prototype.

During last year's Microsoft event, there was no flash in the prototype that the company has shown. The flash on the front-facing camera could mean that the Surface Duo might arrive without a rear camera. It might release with only a front-facing camera, that could double as a rear camera.

Other Details

The user on the video was initially using the Surface Duo with only one app on one display. Meanwhile, the other display shows a home screen with several apps like YouTube, Outlook, and Google Maps. An image shared by the Twitter user shows that the Outlook app was running on both displays of the Surface Duo.

The user later switches to a mode where apps run across the displays. The hinge seemingly splits the app on a horizontal axis. In another set of images from the same tipster, it looks like the Surface Duo has a couple of 5.6-inch screens. You can check out the video of the Microsoft Surface Duo below.

The much-awaited Microsoft Surface Duo is reportedly arriving before 2020 ends. The Redmond-based tech titan has not yet confirmed this release window.
