The English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality, on the other hand, receives a lot of backlashes because of his controversial opinions and rude comments.
But despite the hate that Donald Trump and Piers Morgan receive from netizens, they are not the most trolled ones on social media. A new study revealed that Meghan Markle has more critics online than the US President and the Good Morning Britain host.
The study analyzed 500,000 recent negative tweets about celebrities and public figures. Piers Morgan got the fourth spot, while Donald Trump was sixth. With 53 percent negative tweets, Meghan Markle sits third on the list.
The Duchess of Sussex’s supporters claims that the hate that she’s receiving is all about racism. However, many suggested that racism isn’t at play here and the truth is that Meghan Markle is simply very unlikeable.
In fact, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced last month that they will be stepping down from being senior royals, many blamed the latter for the decision. Biographer David Jones said that the former actress is a headstrong woman who rules over the Duke of Sussex. Jones also noted that the Duchess of Sussex still lived by her ex-husband’s mantra.
“She seemed to have an aphorism to suit almost every eventuality,” Jones said. “One was recited to her friends whenever she embarked on some landmark venture, such as a career move or a new relationship. 'Never give it five minutes if you're not prepared to give it five years,' she would declare (omitting to say this mantra was originally coined by her first husband, Trevor Engelson). That it has taken Meghan considerably less time — just 20 months — to decide she cannot adjust to the rigors of royal duty may have shocked the British public,” he added.
The biographer, then, revealed that some of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s friends believe that the latter is the instigator of their shocking announcement a couple of days ago. David Jones said that one of the former actress’s close friends said that they “saw this coming.”
Meanwhile, previous reports revealed that fans thought that Prince Harry regressed after marrying Meghan Markle. Many believe that the harsh criticism that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing now is all because of Meghan.
