Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are trying to make a change and stand up to what they believe in. While the royals are known for ignoring controversial issues, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have learned to fight back.
One of their moves was against a British newspaper when it published a story about Prince Harry’s use of photos with animals in Africa. The publication claimed that the couple “didn't quite tell the full story” when they posted snaps of elephants, lions, and rhinos on Instagram for Earth Day.
Prince Harry was not too happy with the British newspaper and complained about it. Unfortunately for him, the press regulator IPSO said that the publication didn’t breach its editorial guidelines.
Royal commentator Camilla Tominey told The Today Show that Prince Harry was being “petty.” She also believed that his complaint was questionable.
“The newspaper is taking great comfort in the fact IPSO have backed them on this occasion,” she said. “They think it might set a precedent for the other case. That case, of course, involves letters that Meghan sent to her father Thomas. There is an issue of breach of copyright and privacy.”
Camilla Tominey then noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not open for a settlement and would stand by the case. However, she pointed out that things are going to be complicated because the case also involves Thomas Markle. She also went on to call the couple “petty.”
“Although the couple are insisting they are going to take this case all the way and not agree a settlement out of court, it does have the added complication that Thomas Markle has agreed to testify against his daughter. This complicates matters considerably,” she continued. “The question royal watchers will be asking is: was it really necessary to launch this action at all? This is kind of a petty complaint about a photograph. People can have more sympathy for publishing private correspondence. But on this occasion, people might be thinking that the Sussexes have been slightly petty.”
Meanwhile, previous reports revealed that fans thought that Prince Harry regressed after marrying Meghan Markle. Many believe that the harsh criticism that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are facing now is all because of the former actress.
People are claiming that Meghan Markle should be the one to blame for all hate that Prince Harry is facing at the moment. Before she joined the royal family, the Duke of Sussex never had a major issue with the media to the point of suing them. But, now that Meghan is a part of his life, they suddenly fought back against the media.
