The Philadelphia 76ers duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons could be far from a flop, but disappointments still hound the perceived Eastern Conference franchise. With the great expectations not totally by the tandem, rumors persist the Sixers will resort to a breakup and possibly ship out Embiid soon.

Philadelphia sits at No. 5 on the east side of the ongoing NBA competition, and the prevailing sentiment is the team will not advance too far in the season. There are pieces of the puzzle that remains missing, and among them is the Sixers' inability to snipe when and where it counts.

According to Bleacher Report, the Philadelphia front office will be on the hunt soon for a killer shooter and this plan will be put in motion if Embiid and Simmons continue to frustrate Sixers executive. The pair failing to reach a level of championship-caliber could see quite a big movement soon.

As Simmons plays on point, it is Embiid that is more likely to move in the event the Sixers will start studying on their trade options.

One scenario that plays out is the departure of the team's head coach, the report said, adding that the guy who would replace Brett Brown will be unable to tap the magic that is promised by the Embiid-Simmons tandem, then a spit would ensue.

Embiid is said to be unhappy with the way things are unfolding, and it seemed the same goes for the Sixers execs.

On this, the same report said: "There are plenty of people around the league who believe ... these are the final days of Embiid and Simmons together."

Should all these talks become real, the question that arises is: Where Embiid will play next?

Five likely destinations have been proposed by Fadeaway World and the teams that really excite are the Nets and the Heat. In the latter, the addition of Embiid, young and already at All-Star level, is surely welcome, and Pat Riley will gain an asset that will boost the club's competitiveness.

Andre Iguodala recently joined up with Miami, so having the young center around will further push the Heat to long-delayed super team status.

Embiid is also seen to generate giant waves playing next in Brooklyn. There he will work with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and these former NBA champs will surely motivate Embiid to get his own ring soon.

The trio of Embiid, KD, and Irving will not materialize until next season, but when it happens, the partnership will surely make for a scintillating season not only for Embiid but also for the NBA. Surely, the balance of power will be disrupted with the three plotting to win multiple titles.
