There is little doubt that people still have mixed feelings about Robert Pattinson taking over as the new Batman of the DC Extended Universe. However, it looks like "Battinson" is here to stay and has already been fitted for the new Batsuit. A camera test for the new film The Batman has just been released and it features the Twilight star wearing the Dark Knight's new costume.
Back in May 2019, the word got out that Robert Pattinson was the frontrunner to take over as Batman in the new film being directed by Matt Reeves. Although Warner Bros. didn't immediately confirm the casting, it was later announced that the Water for Elephants star has accepted the role of Bruce Wayne in the new DC flick. Interestingly, some fans were uncertain about the casting because of Pattinson's connection to Twilight. Nevertheless, people began to accept that he is a talented actor who could easily play the Caped Crusader.
But what will Robert Pattinson look like as the Dark Knight? Director Matt Reeves decided to show people what to expect in The Batman. The filmmaker shared a brief camera test of Pattinson in the Batsuit on Vimeo. It's a dark and moody video that even confirms that Batman is getting a new logo as well.
Not surprisingly, fans are still uncertain about Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne. After all, the video barely shows enough of the Batsuit and the lighting is so dark you can only see the outline of his jawline. Nevertheless, some people are hopeful that Pattinson will surprise everyone in The Batman. Hopefully, there will be more updates on the upcoming Warner Bros. film as production continues.
The premise of The Batman is still a huge mystery although it sounds like Bruce Wayne will be dealing with several villains at the same time. In addition to that, a recent report suggested that the Caped Crusader is still in his early years in the film. According to The Wrap, the movie will take place in the second year that Bruce has been a vigilante in Gotham City. This means he probably still has a lot to learn about vigilantism in the movie.

The Batman will also star Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The film is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
