More than one month has already passed since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision to step down from their royal duties as senior members of the British Royal Family. Aside from stepping down, they also plan to become "financially independent" and divide their time between the United Kingdom and North America.

While their surprising wishes were granted by Queen Elizabeth II, along with Prince Charles and Prince William after the "crisis talk" held in Sandringham, it was revealed that the deal will take place starting in April. So, many individuals thought that they will still pursue several engagements and appearances in the UK before officially ceasing to serve the Queen and the Crown.

However, it came as a surprise that Meghan Markle was never present during the crisis talk concerning the Megxit deal. It also became questionable when Prince Harry immediately flew to Canada to reunite with his family after closing the deal with the royals.

According to Express UK, royal experts, like Robert Jobson, "branded" the Sussex couple as "free-loaders." Given that their royal exit will only be effective starting in the spring season, they should be doing their duties and responsibilities right now for the Crown.

Instead, the Duke and Duchess already started living their life outside the monarchy in their Vancouver Island home. It was also noted that they were out of sight for almost a month until their recent appearance in Miami for a JPMorgan-sponsored event, wherein they reportedly gave paid speeches.

It was not revealed, though, how much Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received for their appearance and speech during the event. Even so, several claims alleged that they were paid over $1 million.

The publication continued to share that the Sussex couple already "axed" 15 members of their UK staff. They were also reportedly closing their office in Buckingham Palace.

Accordingly, many are convinced that they no longer have any plans to return to the United Kingdom for good. It is likely that they will be back in the country for short trips only.

No one knows when the Duke and Duchess will return. But, as per the New York Times Post, several royal insiders recently revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will attend "three to four" royal engagements in March before the period of Megxit transition is over.

It was noted that these engagements will be the last series that they will have to do before they officially start the new chapter of their lives.
