It has been over a month now since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their future plans known to the world. Their "bombshell" announcement that they will step down as senior royals was shared on social media shortly after their return to the United Kingdom, ending their extended break from royal duties.

Included in their plans, aside from stepping down, is to live "financially independent." Although not all of their "wishes" were granted by Queen Elizabeth II, a blessing was given to the couple in terms of their decisions toward financial freedom.

As per Metro UK, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently made their first appearance after the controversial Megxit in Miami. It was revealed that the Sussex couple attended a JPMorgan-sponsored event, wherein they served as the "keynote speakers."

Based on claims, they were paid over $1 million for their appearances and speeches. Accordingly, it appears that the Duke and Duchess have already started their plans of securing their own money through their own ways.

Aside from the recent public speaking, it was also said that the Duchess of Sussex has already signed a deal with Disney to do a voice-over for future projects. It remains unknown, though, what these projects will be and when the contract will start.

This "voice-over" deal has apparently become controversial because of its alleged backstory. It was claimed that Prince Harry sold Meghan Markle "to the highest bidder" in order to land such projects.

According to Express UK, the Sussex couple attended the Lion King premiere in London last July. In their attendance, they were able to meet the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger.

While the photos and clips showed that they were all having a good time, along with the voice actors of the film, it was reported that a video was able to record how the Duke of Sussex marketed his wife to the CEO.

As shown and heard on the video, Prince Harry told the CEO that if they will have future voice-over projects, they will be "available" to do it. Meghan Markle also reportedly added, "to pitch", and this was the reason why they attended the event.

Others deemed the whole conversation as the royals' way to make conversations with their audience. But, the publication stated that some individuals took it a "cringe" moment since they should not have done that. It was also shared that Queen Elizabeth II has been "cringing" over this conversation as it appeared like the royal-born Prince was "selling his wife."

Despite the controversies and allegations, though, no word or comment has been heard from the Queen, as well as from the Sussex couple, about the matter.
