Kate Middleton looks and acts like a real-life princess, which is why a lot of people sometimes forget that she wasn’t born royal. The Duchess of Cambridge had a very normal childhood like the rest of us, and she shared her strong family bond during a candid podcast.

The public has witnessed how close Prince William and Kate Middleton are to their three young children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. This is not a shock at all as the Duchess of Cambridge recently gushed about her ”very happy childhood.”

“I had a very happy childhood. It was great fun and I'm very lucky I come from a very strong family. My parents were hugely dedicated,” Kate Middleton said on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast. I really appreciate now as a parent how much they sacrificed for us. They came to every sports match, they'd be the ones on the sideline shouting, and we'd always have our family holidays together."

Kate Middleton’s schedule as a senior royal is very hectic. But thanks to her solid family background, she manages to put her children on top of her priority list. The Duchess of Cambridge also shared that she still likes doing simple things, especially with her children, despite her royal status.

“But what resonates the most is the simple things. I see that now with my own children. Life now is so busy and distracting and sometimes simple things like watching a fire on a really rainy day provide such enjoyment,” she shared. “I remember that from my childhood, the simple things, like going for a walk together, I try to do this with my children. It totally strips away complications and pressures. I think those experiences mean so much to children and the world they're in which is a real adventure at that age.”

Meanwhile, a previous report revealed that despite the huge change in their family after Kate Middleton became royal, the Middletons are still practicing what regular people do. Grandparents usually look after the kids while the parents are away, and they are still doing it until now.

When Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the Queen’s annual Diplomatic Corps Reception at Buckingham Palace back in December, it was later learned that Carole Middleton was the one who looked after Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

That wasn’t the first time it happened. When Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoyed a night out at Mustique’s famous Basil’s Bar during their vacation, Michael and Carole Middleton, who joined the royal couple during the trip, looked after the kids.
