Princess Diana is known for her incredible love for her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. But, as part of the royal family, they are not allowed to do things on their own. Knowing that the late People's Princess was breaking royal protocols to do something that she wanted, an unearthed biography revealed she "behaved irresponsibly" in front of her kids a year after her separation from Prince Charles.

When the Prince and Princess of Wales got officially separated in 1992, Princess Diana started to defy the royal convention of how to raise her kids. When their divorce got finalized in 1996, she, then, took advantage of her freedom to show her sons the life outside the palace, per Express.

In royal biographer Angela Levin's 2018 biography, Harry: Conversations with the Prince, she revealed how Princess Diana tried to escape her protection officers, which was considered irresponsible at the time. "She behaved irresponsibly in March 1993 a year after her official separation when she was on a skiing holiday in Lech, Austria, with William and Harry," she said.

The royal bodyguard Ken Wharfe revealed that Princess Diana and her kids were always guarded. However, she tried to jump out of the window of her suite, which was about 20 feet drop into the show, to stay out all night. "Her antics were only discovered at 5.30 am the next day when she rang the doorbell to the exclusive Albert Hotel," Levin added.

Princess Diana claimed that she needed some air, that's why she went out. But, it didn't just end there. Earlier, in 1988, she snuck out of the royal estate in Scotland, Balmoral, with Prince Harry, who was only four years old at the time.

She tried to escape her security and broke the royal protocol by sneaking out with her son early in the morning. She, then, drove nine miles to visit the luxury leisure center, Craigendarroch Hotel, in the U.K.

A hotel staff revealed Princess Diana was also nervous about what she did. Usually, a hotel manager would be informed in advance when someone from the royal family would visit their place. From here, the police would be notified so that they could check the hotel grounds before they arrived.

So, when Princess Dianna came, Levin quickly alerted the police to ensure her and Prince Harry's safety. Although the mother-of-two enjoyed escaping with her boys, it was still considered reckless.

Hello! Magazine noted that family is the most important thing for Princess Diana. She was even spotted spending sweet moments with Prince William and Prince Harry when she was still alive. She even said before that she lived for her sons, and she would be lost without them.
