Since last year, the Internet has seen a lot of leaks associated with the PS5. Considering that Sony has not yet officially revealed the next generation gaming console, a lot of speculations about its final design are rife online. The latest set of leaks seemingly confirm that the PS5 might feature the V-shape design fans earlier saw in the console's alleged dev kit.
PS5 Design
Last year, Dutch site LetsGoDigital uncovered a patent filed by Sony, which reveals the possible design of the PlayStation 5. The patent was filed in Brazil's National Institution of Industrial Property or INPI. The patent cites Sony's Engineer Yusuhiro Ootori as the designer and features a strange looking box with a V cut at the center.
In Nov., several 'actual' PS5 dev kit images surfaced online, surprisingly, captured side by side with the alleged PS5. Microsoft's Xbox Series X was officially unveiled last year at The Game Awards and earned a lot of ridicule and criticism because of its design. Many fans believe that Cony could do better than Microsoft, but is there a possibility that the dev kit making rounds online is the actual PS5 design?
Some say it is, but, Ootori's style with the design is far from that of the PS5 dev kit. The Sony engineer is known for his minimalist aesthetic and sleek edges. It would be interesting to know that Ootori transitioned with his design if the dev kit turns out to be the actual PS5 design.
Moreover, the design is not ideal for mass production. The vents, which allow the circulation of air on the dev kit is not an ideal design and could cause packaging and shipping issues.
New Leak of PS5 Design
On Reddit, a Redditor was reportedly able to capture the logo of the PS5 on the Japanese website before it was taken down. The logo shows the PS5 with the same design as the dev kit. The image could be edited, or it could also be true.

Other Details
In other PS5 news, a recent report revealed that PS5 games at launch would be available to PS4. This is reportedly Sony's way of helping users transition from the current generation to the next generation gaming console. Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan announced last year that the PS5 would be released sometime in the holiday of 2020. The executive also said that there are still a lot of unannounced major features about the PS5 that fans should look forward to.
