Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Sony's PlayStation 5 are the next generation gaming consoles that both fans and the industry have long been talking about. Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox Series X last year at The Games Awards. Since Sony has not yet unveiled the PS5, fans are right now excited and are looking for clues on when they could finally see the PlayStation 5 in the flesh.

PS5 Unveiling on Feb. 20

The latest rumor on the official unveiling date of the PS5 comes from a recent Tweet from Sony's Shuhei Yoshida, who was the former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment. When the executive was asked where the PS5 is, he replied with an image. The image bears the date 2.20, which some fans immediately took as a hint on the official unveiling of the PS5, which is Feb. 20.

But, technically, Yoshida's tweet is about "Persona 5's" Scramble, which is slated to release on Feb. 20. More than anything, it is possible that the executive is simply trolling the fan. Recently, Sony officially launched the website of the PlayStation 5.

There is nothing much that we could get from the official website. However, there is a statement from the Japanese console maker saying that it is not yet ready to fully unveil the PS5. While this is sad news, there is still a chance that Sony might partially reveal the PlayStation 5.

New Ad

The Japanese gaming console maker also released a teaser recently for the PS5. The ad is a minute and 45 seconds long and shows five soldiers looking down at a deep tunnel. The tunnel is dark, but they decided to reach its bottom by climbing down. The atmosphere in the teaser is like that of a thriller or a suspense movie with sound effects that align with the vibe.

When the soldiers managed to breach the door, they discovered a massive collection of pumping human heart powering the PlayStation. The teaser shows a rectangular console, which could be our very first peek at the next generation gaming console. The ad ended with the tagline "Feel the Power."

The brief ad is quite disturbing, with a setting appearing like that of a bitcoin mining hub. While it seems that nothing is revealed in the teaser, a fan said that he saw the number 11 when the troops were climbing down the hole. The number 11 and the five soldiers when put together seemingly hint of a date, which could be 11.5 or 5.11.
