The Good Doctor season 3 episode 16 is set to arrive next week on ABC, with the title "Autopsy." Dr. Shaun Murphy and others will be taking on a complicated case in this episode. Shaun, in particular, becomes obsessed with it, probably because of what happened to him in the previous episode. A lot of things are running through his mind right now, so he distracts himself with other things.

In The Good Doctor season 3 episode 16, Shaun's emotional confession didn't go as planned. To distract himself, Shaun becomes obsessed with performing an autopsy on a Jane Doe. However, his desire challenges his relationship with the hospital. He needs to sort out his feelings right now, as his personal issues may impact his professional life.

Shaun and Carly's relationship is now over; they have broken up in the previous episode. Carly realized Shaun's feelings for Lea were too intense and she couldn't contend with that. Yet, he is probably afraid to tell Lea what he really feels, especially since they were friends. He also had his heart broken by her before, so he's scared she'll reject him once again.

Things could get even more complicated between Shaun, Carly, and Lea now that the latter is working at the hospital. They're going to see each other, which is inevitable. They may get awkward being around each other, making their situation at the hospital even more complicated. What Shaun needs to do now is to understand his own feelings to find his way on happiness.

Shaun's complicated feelings have been one of the major elements of the third season. His relationship with Carly is frequently being challenged and they struggle with communication. Now, they have broken up, which might be the best for both of them. And as for Lea, they share a deeper emotional intimacy. But, that doesn't mean Lea will immediately recognize her feelings for Shaun.

But aside from Shaun's conflicting feelings, there are other stories worth exploring in the upcoming episode. The Good Doctor season 3 episode 16 will also see Dr. Marcus Andrews, Dr. Morgan Reznick, and Dr. Claire Browne treating a male college student. This might be a difficult case for them because the patient is suffering from a mysterious split personality disorder.

The Good Doctor season 3 episode 16 airs on Monday, Feb. 24, on ABC.
