J-Hope recently did a live broadcast on VLive to celebrate his birthday with ARMYs. While waiting for the clock to strike 12, the BTS star shared a lot of things with fans, such as his playlist, what he ate earlier that day, and the jacket that he was wearing.
J-Hope revealed that Jin gave him the jacket. The 26-year-old rapper, songwriter, dancer, and record producer explained that Mr. Worldwide Handsome gave him a present after being late for dance practice.
“Jin gave this to me as a present,” J-Hope shared while showing the jacket off to the viewers. “It’s nice, huh? ’J-Hope!’ He called my name like this. He was late for our practice. So I thought, ‘Why is he still not coming? He’s so late.’ I was so mad at him. Out of the blue, he came in, calling my name.”
J-Hope then imitated Jin’s voice while telling the fans what he said to him. The moment was so funny as the BTS star kept changing his voice from his own to Jin’s.
“’J-Hope! I had my reason for being late. J-Hope! Happy birthday to you.’ He said and gave it to me. ‘J-Hope, I will teach you how to do styling with this jacket!’ he said. Out of the blue, he said, ‘J-Hope, put it on now. If you wear it like this, it’s a winter mode now, J-Hope. It’s a winter mode. Now, a summer mode. There’s also a summer mode, J-Hope,’ he said. ‘Make sure you wear it like this, J-Hope,’ he said. And he taught me how to wear this jacket.”
J-Hope then showed everyone the “Winter mode” and the “Summer mode” of the jacket. When wearing the “Winter mode,” J-Hope should use the whole sleeve. And for “Summer mode,” there’s a slot in the middle of the sleeves that J-Hope can put his arms through to make it into short sleeves.
Even though J-Hope said that Jin knows his style really well, the idea of the “Summer mode” didn’t impress J-Hope that much as he said that it will make him look like he had four arms.
But what’s impressive is the price of Jin’s present. The jacket cost 1.93 million won (approx. 1,621.48 USD). Although J-Hope didn’t mention the brand, the name Balenciaga can be clearly seen on the left side of the outerwear.
With a net worth of around $8 million, Jin can easily afford anything including luxury brands. So giving J-Hope a $1,600-worth of present is not a big deal to him, especially because he was late.
