Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced last month that they will be stepping down as senior royals. And because of that decision, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex need to face the consequences such as losing their HRH titles, the Prince’s military titles, and being banned from using the term “royal” in any upcoming commercial ventures.

Royal insider Richard Fitzwilliams claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not very happy with Queen Elizabeth’s decision. He said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex feel “victimized” by Her Majesty.

“They wanted to make a point with this - but did they need to?” he told Australia’s Sunrise program. “They feel they are being victimized by being put on a 12-month probation. They wanted to remain part-time working royals. They wanted to be able to use their titles. The Queen stepped in with this decision because she had to. Harry should have shown more humility.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently released a statement that they had no intention of using the “Sussex Royal” brand after they officially leave their roles in Spring 2020. According to a report, the couple seemingly suggests that they were being treated differently to other senior royals.

“While there isn’t any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word ‘Royal’ overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs in Spring 2020,” the statement read. “While there is precedent for other titled members of the Royal Family to seek employment outside of the institution, for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a 12-month review period has been put in place.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were then being accused of "ostracizing themselves from the family rather than building bridges" with the royal family. A royal insider shared that what's going on now in the royal family household is a "quite extraordinary turn of events.”

“The British people will not stand for two multi-millionaires demanding taxpayer funds after abandoning the country they should be serving,” the source said. “The latest series of comments published on the Sussexes’ website comes across as extremely petulant and has caused a great deal of alarm inside the palace. This is further evidence of Harry and Meghan further ostracising themselves from the family rather than building bridges.”
