After the news that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi might get married in Italy, it is now confirmed that it would happen in the U.K. As the wedding will push through, everyone wants to know what will be the role of Prince Andrew or if he will be in it after he stepped down from his royal duties.
Talking on New Idea's ROYALS podcast, via Express, royal expert Angela Mollard revealed Princess Beatrice's father would walk her down the aisle. "I'm sure she would love that," the show's co-cost Zoe Burrell added.
The analyst continued to say that it was the right thing for Prince Andrew to do, being the father of the bride. She also added that the upcoming nuptials would be the very much wedding that Princess Beatrice wanted.
"She wants it small, contained, family; not a whole raft of celebrities," Mollard said. With all the issues surrounding Prince Andrew today, she then questioned who could blame Princess Beatrice with the controversies her dad experiences.
The scandals surrounding Prince Andrew affect his daughter's wedding. Things went sour that Princess Beatrice wanted to hold her very special day in Italy and make it private.
Another royal commentator Victoria Arbiter told 9Honey that there were a lot of talks about how the Princess of York would love the idea of traveling abroad to have a low-key wedding that would have "less scrutiny." "I feel for [Princess Beatrice] a little bit because there is so much ugliness surrounding Prince Andrew at the moment, and so by extension, that does trickle down to his daughters," she explained. Hence, having a more low-key wedding would be more beneficial for the 31-year-old princess.
There were earlier assumptions that Princess Beatrice might hold her wedding in Italy with all the issues surrounding Prince Andrew. However, despite the numerous scandals, Arbiter said she couldn't imagine Bea holding her wedding in a different country.
Just like her sister, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice is incredibly close to her grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. So, it may be impossible that she will plan her wedding without them as they will not go anywhere -- even in Italy.
Fortunately, Her Majesty offered her granddaughter the guards of Buckingham Palace to be the venue of their wedding reception. They will get married at St James' Palace. Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will also be the first weddings at the palace after Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding.
