Prince William, reportedly, held secret meetings in Kensington Palace as a preparation to take over Prince Charles' role. The Duke of Cambridge is said to be holding private talks with royal aides for his transition to become the Duke of Cornwall.
As Prince of Wales has been preparing to be the next king, his firstborn son is also readying himself to be the next owner of the Duchy of Cornwall estate. According to Express, Kate Middleton's husband had a meeting with the Secretary of the Duchy of Cornwall, Alastair Martin.
In the royal family's official diary, the Court Circular, it noted that Prince William held a meeting in Kensington Palace with Martin. Just like his dad, the Royal Central editor Charlie Proctor said the second in line to the throne is following his footsteps by "preparing to become the king."
"Just like Prince Charles is preparing to become King, William is already preparing to become Prince of Wales," the royal expert told The Daily Star Online. He proudly said that Prince Harry's brother is now ready to take his duties and responsibilities that he has to do in the future.
Prince William already left his job as an air ambulance pilot to be a full time working royal. His presence in the monarchy now becomes more critical as time goes by. It only means that he has to commit all of his "working time to royal duties."
By the looks of things, Prince William may never hold the title as Prince of Wales for more than 60 years like Prince Charles. Hence, he needs to learn all the ropes as his time on the throne may come sooner than later.
The Duchy of Cornwall holds about 134,000 acres of land in more than 23 countries in the U.K. It, reportedly, has the value of £1 billion. The place is used and suitable for growing crops. It also has livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, forests, rivers, and quarries.
It, allegedly, earns £20.5 million a year that Prince Charles uses to fund his charities and public and private activities. Mirror Online also noted that he also uses its fund to cover the official expenses of his family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before they quit as senior members of the royal family.
Aside from inheriting the title of the Duke of Cornwall, it is also likely that Prince Charles will be giving the title of Prince of Wales to Prince Williams. As names are traditionally given to the heir, Camilla Parker-Bowles' husband will surely do so when he becomes the king.
