Sergio Ramos is due for a new contract, but it appears the 33-year-old is not really thinking about that right now. Instead, he seems to want to settle the current season first before thinking of what lies ahead.

Ramos is due for a contract extension after this season, and such has been under debate. It appears Real Madrid is willing to hand him only a one-year deal, but the center-back is batting for a two-year contract. The Spanish football player is pretty much aware that there is a certain policy in place concerning the age of players. From the looks of it, Ramos hopes he will be an exception to that rule, Goal.com reported.

"The relationship with the club is magnificent in every way. So there is no rush on any side - mine or the club," Ramos said. "I've never made extra demands, I understand the club's policy with players of a certain age. If the club wants me to stay, I'll stay, no need to worry."

Also, there appears to be no strained relationship between him and Real Madrid. Ramos described his relationship as magnificent, hinting that takes on contract negotiations may be overblown. But then again, his relaxed attitude could also send mixed signals on possibly moving out of Santiago Bernabeu. This is despite Ramos hinting that he wanted to end his football career with Real.

Regardless of how things end up, Ramos vows that it is a minor issue that can be resolved. Zinedine Zidane pretty much backs that claim, believing that Los Blancos will eventually find a way to make everyone happy. For now, their main focus is Manchester City who they will face in the first leg of a heavyweight last-16 encounter.

Zidane has other things to worry about and is likely thankful that Ramos is not adding to them. Eden Hazard is injured again, and Rodrygo is reportedly out of Clasico after his provocative goal celebration, earning a second yellow against San Sebastian de Los Reyes.

The odds are stacked against Los Blancos, but Zidane seems unfazed. He vows to make the fans proud as they try to push themselves to the best of the abilities against City, Realmadrid.com reported.

“We know we're up against a very good side, they've shown it time and again and they'll come here to play football. We'll have to put on a good display, that's what it's all about. We'll give it everything, but with the focus on what we're doing well, not thinking about having had poorly over the last couple of games. We're playing well, and we have to put in a good performance tomorrow,” Zidane said.
