It cannot be denied that Queen Elizabeth II trusts Prince William so much that she gives him a lot of great responsibilities. However, as the Duke of Cambridge's grandmother, it cannot be helped that she needs to reprimand him, especially when he almost get one of his cousins killed in his younger years.

In an interview for the documentary The Queen at 90, Kate Middleton's husband remembered the time when he received the almighty "b*******ing" from Her Majesty when he almost endangered Zara's life when they were kids. At the time, Peter and him were on a quad bike in Balmoral, chasing Zara who was on a go-cart, Express noted.

When they managed to herd Zara into the lamppost, it suddenly came down and almost squashed her. Peter and Zara are the kids of Prince William's aunt, Princess Anne.

Prince William remembered Queen Elizabeth was the first person who went out at Balmoral and ran across the lawn in her kilt. "[She] came charging over and gave us the most almighty b******ing," he said, smiling. Since then, it has been stuck in his mind that he should be more careful about what he is doing and try not to kill his cousins.

It was not the first time that Queen Elizabeth reprimanded Prince William. In 2016, the Queen also chastised him when he was bending down repeatedly while talking to his son, Prince George, during the Trooping the Color.

As thousands of people watched the event, Queen Elizabeth demanded that every member of the family would behave nicely. Hence, she told him to stand up, which he immediately did.

Although Queen Elizabeth seems to scold Prince William often, she has been handing him greater responsibilities as a preparation for his future role as the king after his father, Prince Charles. Recently, he earned the new royal position when the Her Royal Highness appointed him as the Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, E! News reported.

According to Royal U.K. website, it is the role of the Lord High Commissioner to maintain a good relationship between the church and the state. Appointing this role is said to be a long-standing tradition that started in the latter part of the 16th century.

In a press release, Prince William has to attend the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland on behalf of the sovereign. He has to do the opening and closing addresses to the Assembly and perform several official functions as the Lord High Commissioner.
