It would be best for Manchester United to finally allow the transfer of problem-plagued Paul Pogba, who has been wanting to leave the Premier League club since the summer of 2019. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Spain or Italy, specifically Juventus, but it would seem the latter is no longer a solid option.

It is time for the Red Devils to move on from the distraction that Pogba has become, according to former United defender Paul Parker. With all the uncertainty created by Pogba's injury woes and the endless talks of his plan to exit from Old Trafford, the whole narrative is casting a negative vibe on the English club, Parker said.

"At this moment in time, he is bad for Manchester United. He's bringing too much negativity to the club. His quality is incredible, but he's averaged about one performance in 10, that's how bad he's been," Goal reported the United hero as saying.

So far in the current campaign, the World Cup winner has only appeared in eight games for United and Parker observed that the problematic player had caused more disruptions that positive contribution. Instead of insisting that Pogba will stay, United should start entertaining offers for the attacker.

"I think they need to shift on from him now, I see any comeback now as being very, very difficult. He's been a bad fit all around," Parker stressed.

Now it appears that selling Pogba has become an urgent matter for United as the rumored destinations for the midfielder were reportedly thinning out. It used to be that Real Madrid is on top of the list, but the interest from the Spanish giants seemed to have cooled down a bit.

Juventus, too, was in the cards, but the latest reports indicated that the Turin-based club could soon exit the picture. Team Talk said the team has found an alternative that could make them forget about getting back Pogba.

Juve's new target has been identified as Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who, in 33 appearances, has scored nine goals with six assists. The 21-year-old has been tagged as an important member of his team and could fetch an asking price of no lower than €60 million.

Notwithstanding the price tag, the report said Juventus would negotiate for a possible deal that likely will be finalized in time for the summer transfer window.

Aouar has been described as a player that can make things happen on the pitch. He was credited as instrumental to Lyon winning over RB Leipzig during a Champions League match in December last year.

Lyon head coach Rudi Garcia has hinted that he is ready to discuss with Juventus about Aouar, but he made clear that the Italian giants must make a tempting offer, including the possibility of a player swap.

"I saw that Juventus would like our players and we would like some of them," Garcia was reported as saying.
