Kate Middleton and Prince William's official Instagram account, @KensingtonRoyal, has been deemed to be much more popular than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's account, @SussexRoyal. While there were no speculations raised about this dynamic in previous months, several social media and data analysts reportedly raise a few questions recently about the matter.

As per reports, The New York Times released a report claiming that it has become a "mystery" today as to why the Cambridge couple's account has more followers than the Sussex's. As explained, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's followers have never gotten in par with the followers of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's profile.

While it was noted that it is likely because Meghan and Harry just opened their official account between 2018 and 2019, not to mention they had been using the @KensingtonRoyal account as well since they officially became the Sussex couple, the data analysts and experts explained that it is quite unusual given how the Sussexes have become more popular in recent times.

It was further elaborated that Meghan and Harry's bad publicity alone is already enough basis why they have been branded as more popular than Prince William and Kate Middleton. Also, the analysts shared that nine out of the ten most popular royal photos included the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Sun UK released a similar report and shared some of the other points that the data experts noted in their claims. Based on the figures, there are only hundreds of photos posted on the @SussexRoyal account as opposed to @KensingtonRoyal's over 2000 posts. Even so, the collective "likes" that the Sussexes obtained summed up more than what the Cambridges received since then.

The same was also said to be true in terms of the comments and responses that both accounts have been receiving from users of the platform. However, the report revealed that it was only this January when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their imminent exit that their followers almost topped Prince William and Kate Middleton's account's followers.

With these factors at hand, it is not surprising why questions and speculations have been raised by the experts, as well as the fans and supporters. It was theorized that it is possible that the palace has been "buying bots" to maintain this dynamic since Prince William and Kate Middleton have much more "seniority" in terms of their roles within the British Monarchy.

In the end, however, no comments and responses from both parties and palaces have been shared with the public about the matter.
