Prince George is the eldest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton. He is third in the line of succession to the British throne behind his grandfather Prince Charles and dad the Duke of Cambridge.

With that said, Prince George’s birth in 2013 was a big deal. Also, Kate Middleton wasn’t only a new mom, but there were definitely pressures of bringing her newborn out to the world. Recently, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that she felt relieved and “slightly terrified” after Prince George’s birth.

“Yeah, slightly terrifying, slightly terrifying, I’m not going to lie,” Kate Middleton admitted about posing after the birth of Prince George seven years ago.

During her interview on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Kate Middleton shared the pressure that she and Prince William felt at the time. The Duchess of Cambridge said that they knew that the moment was very important to everyone.

“Everyone had been so supportive and both William and I were really conscious that this was something that everyone was excited about and, you know, we’re hugely grateful for the support that the public had shown us, and actually for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt was really important,” Kate Middleton explained. “But equally it was coupled with a newborn baby, and inexperienced parents, and the uncertainty of what that held, so there were all sorts of mixed emotions.”

The wife of Prince William also noted that she felt “relieved” at Prince George’s behavior. “[George] was very sweet, and [I was] sort of relieved that he was a happy, healthy boy,” she said.

Kate Middleton is considered to be an all-around mom. The Duchess of Cambridge makes it a point to complete her royal obligations successfully while being an active parent to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Her schedule as a senior royal is very hectic., but thanks to her solid family background, Kate Middleton manages to put her children on top of her priority list. The Duchess of Cambridge also shared that she still likes doing simple things, especially with her children, despite her royal status.

“What resonates the most is the simple things. I see that now with my own children. Life now is so busy and distracting and sometimes simple things like watching a fire on a really rainy day provide such enjoyment,” she shared. “I remember that from my childhood, the simple things, like going for a walk together, I try to do this with my children. It totally strips away complications and pressures. I think those experiences mean so much to children and the world they're in which is a real adventure at that age.”
