Last month, Samsung unveiled to the public its second foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip. Many are impressed with its design, which is different from the Galaxy Fold. But, a new iPhone Fold concept surfaced online, and it looks like it is challenging Samsung's design for its Z Flip.
iPhone Fold
The recent buzz about the iPhone Fold design concept was earlier shared online by an Instagram user named bad.not.bad from Ontario, Canada. The IG account shared a photo of what looks like a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, which the Cupertino tech giant should try to look at. While the design concept is not from Apple, it earned more than a million views online.
Aside from its exciting design that Apple could use for its iPhone Fold, the post reveals an interesting way of how the hinge of the device functions. Users simply need to swipe on the left side of the screen would unfold. In other words, any user could easily operate the iPhone Fold using only one hand.
While it is not clear how the iPhone Fold design concept folds, it looks like a slight push on the device could gently snap it shut. Earlier, Corning, the maker of Gorilla glass used in various smartphone brands, claimed that Apple is just a few months away from releasing its foldable iPhone. With the release of foldable smartphones from Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola, consumers are wondering when Apple plans to release its version of the revolutionary designed handset.
All-Glass iPhone
A few days ago, an Apple patent was spotted online, which many believe to be the company's version of a revolutionary-designed smartphone that would challenge the foldable handsets available in the market today. It is an all-glass iPhone equipped with touch sensors on all its displays. It also considers the idea of transforming all sides of the iPhone into a display with one part that would act as its primary display.
The Apple patent also contains illustrations of the all-glass iPhone that looks like a sheet of glass. It is titled "Electronic Device with Glass Enclosure" and was filed and published by the US Patent and Trademark Organization. Other interesting details that we could learn from the patent includes its six-sided touch-sensitive display that will show its departure from the standard front touchscreen design.
At this point, however, these are just concepts. The Apple patent does not say that it would be available to the consumers soon. Most companies like Apple have a habit of filing patents that some of them do not even reach the consumers.
