Although looks shouldn’t matter, it most of the time do, especially when you’re a public figure. The Royal Family members are definitely not Hollywood celebrities, but a lot of people are very interested in them, just like the stars in Tinseltown.
And just like the actors and actresses in Hollywood, fans enjoy comparing the Royals with each other as well. Recently, fans took to social media to talk about Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle’s legs.
Royal fans praised Princess Diana and Kate Middleton’s legs, while many said Meghan Markle’s are under par compared to them. One netizen posted a photo of the three women on Twitter and captioned it, “ And in the matter of… LEGS… one is clearly an affront to the field of vision…”
While Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, and Meghan Markle are all considered to be slim, the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Cambridge have athletic legs while the wife of Prince Harry has really skinny stems. Critics of the Duchess of Sussex then took this as an opportunity to make fun of her.
“Diana has great legs, Kate's are to die for and...... well if I can't be nice, I'll say nothing about the far right picture,” one commented. “What does Harry see in her?? Not a sight to behold. I’m a woman and I don’t find her attractive at all. Look at those chicken legs!! And she’s quite a character,” another one wrote. “Looks like her legs are stuck into her shoulders! No shape, no waist and no taste to dress... but we now used to that,” one critic said.
After Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, she has been constantly compared to Kate Middleton. Since the Duchess of Cambridge had already been a part of the royal family so much longer than Prince Harry's wife, she usually gets all the praises while the Duchess of Sussex is being criticized over anything.
These unnecessary comparisons led to rumors that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are feuding. While there are not enough proofs to confirm these claims, many are convinced that the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex are at war. In fact, Prince William and Prince Harry are also speculated to be less close than they were before because of their wives.
PR expert Anthony Burr said that social media played a “significant role” in the alleged feud of the duchesses. “Undoubtedly, social media has played a significant role in pitting Meghan against Kate in a social media war,” he shared. “We were seeing a ‘team Meghan vs team Kate’ on social media channels and also on media websites.”
