The public has seen Prince William and Prince Harry grow up together. But just like any other siblings, they do have some ups and downs.
During an interview for the ITV documentary Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, the Duke of Sussex seemingly confirmed all the speculations that he and Prince William may be feuding. Now, a body language expert claimed that the Duke of Cambridge showed “inner worry” after his brother’s withdrawal from Royal life.
“It’s William’s upper thigh-holding that looks like a truncated cut-off or barrier gesture that suggests some inner need to self-protect. He moved his hand as he walked, but only higher, placing it on his stomach in an emphatic barrier ritual,” Judi James said. “He was also seen wringing his hands as he approached his hosts and overall produced a set of signals that could be caused by either inner worry (Harry’s return?) or even bashfulness at happy news (a pregnancy?).”
Although Kate Middleton is heavily speculated to be expecting baby number 4, the body language expert believed that Prince William’s worries are heading more towards Prince Harry’s departure.
“I’m afraid I’m veering towards the Harry effect though. Since Harry left the UK and the royal firm William, Kate and Charles have been doing some industrial-strength masking in terms of looking desperately happy in what must have been a bid to paper over the cracks and show it’s business as usual,” she said. “William did use some of the same smiles today but these glimpses of what looks potentially like worry or even anguish suggest he might have found the re-meet difficult.”
Meanwhile, previous reports revealed that Kate Middleton appeared “strained” in one of her royal engagements. Following Prince Harry ad Meghan Markle’s step back from senior royal duties, the Duchess of Cambridge greeted guests at the UK-Africa Investment Summit reception. She and Prince William hosted their first-ever Buckingham Palace event, where they were joined by Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Princess Anne.
While the Duchess of Cambridge showed grace and composure, energy reader Alison Ward said that Kate Middleton’s worries regarding the whole matter were quite obvious at the event.
“The strain of recent events is evident to see in some of last night’s pictures from the state reception,” she said. “Kate warmly greets officials and is clearly still very much in love with William but when she meets Sophie, Duchess of Wessex that’s when the strain shows.”
