TWICE member Tzuyu is currently in Taiwan and under quarantine in her home country. The singer's mother confirmed the situation but assured that the TWICE maknae is not sick.
This answered the fans' question on why Tzuyu was not with the other members of TWICE when the group posted several pictures on Instagram over the weekend. According to Tzuyu's mother, Huang Yenling, the 20-year-old idol is currently under the mandatory 14-day quarantine in Taiwan.
Mrs. Yenling assured that her daughter is doing well, despite being bored. Apparently, Tzuyu is keeping herself occupied by watching movies and doing her regular exercise.
If the singer wouldn't show any symptoms of coronavirus during this period, she will be allowed to return to South Korea and join her group once her quarantine has ended. Tzuyu's mom, however, did not say when the singer arrived in Taiwan and when the quarantine started.
It can be recalled that the nine members of TWICE, including Mina, arrived in Seoul on February 23 after they wrapped up the Japan leg of their TWICELIGHTS world tour. It looks like Tzuyu decided to travel to Taiwan after a brief stop in Seoul.
Tzuyu doesn't need to return to Korean amidst the COVID-19 outbreak in the southern part of the country since TWICE has no confirmed schedule as of yet. The "Feel Special" singers have already canceled the final stage for their ongoing concert tour. The TWICELIGHTS in Seoul Finale concert was originally slated on March 7 and 8 at Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Arena.
The JYP Entertainment girl group sent their regrets to their fans via Instagram about the canceled show. Over the weekend, the members posted some group photos but it can be noticed that Nayeon and Tzuyu were missing. They captioned the photo with an apology to ONCEs and reminded their fans to stay healthy.
Tzuyu earlier made donations to China and South Korea to help in efforts in stopping the spread of COVID-19. Tzuyu generously donated 50 million won ($42,000) to the Community Chest of Korea and almost the same amount to China.
Meanwhile, TWICE was supposed to attend and perform at The Fact Music Awards later this month. The award show was supposed to be held on February 29 at the Gocheok SkyDome. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the organizers have also decided to cancel the event.
TMA announced that they will reveal all winners online on March 16 at 10 AM KST. The videos of the artists receiving their awards will also be posted online.
