Just recently, a new Apple Watch rival emerged in the market as Oppo introduced its smartwatch in the market. While the smartwatch from the Cupertino tech giant dominates the market segment, Apple has to think of more ways to make it superior and beat competitors. A new report claims that the upcoming Apple Watch Series 6 would have these two amazing features at launch.

New Apple Watch 6 Features

A new report from 9to5Mac reveals that the Cupertino tech juggernaut is equipping the Apple Watch Series 6 with improved ECG features and blood oxygen detection. The site claims to have discovered these features on the iOS 14 code snippets. When the Apple Watch senses that there is low blood saturation, it will instantly send notifications.

While the report has found proof that the blood oxygen detection would be available, it admits that it is not clear how Apple will incorporate the feature on the Apple Watch Series 6. It could be through new hardware or through the watchOS 7 anticipated to release this fall.

The site also mentions about Apple working on the enhanced ECG feature of its smartwatch. It can be recalled that an Apple document submitted to the FDA admits that Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 5 have inconclusive ECG readings for heart rates ranging between 100 and 120 beats per minute. Apple is reportedly doing something to eradicate this weakness.

Another anticipated feature that may arrive on the Apple Watch Series 6 is the sleep tracking. Some Apple Watch rivals already have this most requested, and the Cupertino company might equip its upcoming smartwatch to respond to consumers' demand. A sleep app on the Apple Watch Series 6 would make it very attractive to consumers.

Other Apple Watch Details

Over the years, we have seen reports of people thanking Apple Watch for saving their lives. The handy health features send notifications to users that trigger them to seek immediate medical aid. From an erratic ECG reading that sent the user to ER to a home invasion case that alerted the authority and allowed them to catch the perpetrator, Apple Watch has played crucial roles in the lives of some of its users.

The additional health metric like oxygen detection in the blood allows the Apple Watch to show the current cardiac condition of the wearer. The healthy levels range between 95 and 100 percent, a dip in the percentage could cause a critical issue such as cardiac arrest. Apple CEO Tim Cook earlier said that the company would continue to equip the Apple Watch with more life saving and preventive technology.
