In the Maldives, two employees tested positive for the virus after attending to an Italian tourist who tested positive for the virus upon his return home. The government placed the resort on lockdown until all staff is cleared from any sign of infections.

Malta's first reported patient was a 12-year-old Italian girl who lives on the island. On Sunday, the local government said her parents are also positive about the virus. The family was placed on quarantine as a preventive measure.
