The BTS members are known for being generous on each other-from spending on birthday gifts to their bandmates to shopping on one member's expense. Jin has once again proven just that and BTS ARMY was shocked to find out how much he spent and how he paid for it.
On Sunday, the group had dinner to celebrate Suga's birthday but it was Jin who took care of the bill. Prior to their night out, the members teased Jin during their VLive broadcast that the eldest member of the group should treat the members out on Suga's birthday. When all six members voted for him to take the tab, it seems impossible for Jin to escape the imposition.
In a post on Twitter, Suga posted a video thanking Jin for the dinner. In the clip, Jin was seen at the payment counter, swiping his credit card. Jimin was also seen on his side, checking on how much his hyung got billed.
It was revealed that the "Epiphany" crooner paid 878,000 won ($759) for their meal. It appeared that he also paid for the staff's dinner. For sure, the birthday boy, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook and their staff were all well-fed on Suga's birthday.
Many BTS ARMY were shocked by the group's meal price tag. Many hilariously commented that it was already a month's salary for an employee. Some added that it was equivalent to her tuition fee.
Though the bill that Jin paid for shocked the fans, many also took notice of how he paid for it. In the clip, the BTS member can be seen holding a black credit card on his right hand.
According to the fans, the card is the exclusive Digital Hyundai black card that the company offers to their top 0.05% VVIP consumers. It is available through invitation only. It has an annual membership fee of two million won (about $1,700).
Less than 1,000 individuals have the card, making the cardholders the most exclusive social groups in Korea. The cardholders can enjoy benefits such as luxurious services on travel, hotels, concierge, beauty, free upgrade to first-class flights, and more.
Each BTS member is expected to have their own Digital Hyundai black card. The members net worth have skyrocketed for the past years, not to mention that they are the brand ambassadors for one of the company's flagship vehicles, the Hyundai Palisade.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time a member of BTS spent a lot on the group's meal. During the group VLive broadcast, it was also revealed that V paid for their recent dinner together and J-Hope disclosed Taehyung paid a lot.
In 2017, Jungkook also treated his bandmates to a Chinese restaurant after his graduation from high school. During the group's appearance in New Yang Nam Show, it was revealed that JK paid $800 for their meal.
Hosts Eric Nam and Jang Do Yeon were shocked to learn how much the group could eat. Nam jokingly asked the septet if the restaurant put gold on their noodles while Jang said BTS could revive a dying food outlet if they eat there.
