Camila Cabello channeled Cinderella at her recent birthday celebration. The "Havana" singer had a birthday bash with a Cinderella theme and many were wondering why a 23-year-old woman had a Disney princess-themed celebration that is usually seen in kids' parties.

It is Cabello's (or her friends) nod to the character that she will be playing on the big screen. Camila's birthday party was held in a princess-like ballroom at Blackpool Tower in Blackpool, England. The American-Cuban singer had a pumpkin-shaped cake and an ice-sculptured Cinderella glass slipper.

Camila's boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, also made sure that he celebrated the special day with her. The songstress also put a spotlight on Save the Children, a charity that is closest to her heart, on her birthday.

"950,000 people have been forced to flee their homes because of the violence in Idlib...Most of them are children. It would mean the world to me if you would consider supporting Save the Children's response to this humanitarian crisis," Cabello wrote on Instagram as she appealed to her fans for support.

Meanwhile, the former Fifth Harmony is currently filming in the U.K. for the upcoming Cinderella movie. Camila will be playing the title character, making it her debut acting role.

The live-action reboot was first reported in April 2019 when it was confirmed that Cabello will be playing the iconic role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming Cinderella movie is described as a modern version of the traditional tale of an orphaned girl who lives with her evil stepmother and stepsisters.

Aside from the "Señorita" singer, Sony movie will also star Idina Menzel as Cinderella's evil stepmother Evelyn, Billy Porter as Fairy Godmother, Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Robert, and Pierce Brosnan as Prince Robert's father, King Rowan. Cabello's Cinderella is slated to hit theaters next year.

The movie will be helmed by Pitch Perfect writer and producer Kay Cannon while late-night TV show host James Corden will co-produced the film. Aside from working behind the camera, Corden will also be playing the role of one of the footman/mouse in the movie along with comedians John Mulaney and Romesh Ranganathan.

Camila started in the music industry as a member of Fifth Harmony along with Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane. The group finished third place on Simon Cowell's The X Factor in 2012.

Camila left the group in December 2016. She propelled to stardom when her song "Havana" topped the charts in 2017 as well as her debut solo album, Camila, the following year.
