Queen Elizabeth II was at the center of many headlines last week after she visited Windsor Castle. It was said that an "awkward security mistake" happened upon her arrival at the gates of the property.

As reported, the 93-year-old monarch was "shut out" of the castle as the gates won't open for her. Following the arrival of two black Range Rovers at the front of the property, the Queen, along with her security reportedly had to wait outside.

According to The Sun UK, it took several minutes before Queen Elizabeth II was welcomed to the property. Her security and staff even had to "kick" the side of the security door before they all decided to "escort" the monarch around the block.

The said witnesses who were reportedly present at that time revealed that the two Range Rovers went for a quick U-turn before the gates were opened. It was "hugely embarrassing," the sources described.

It was further asserted that the guards or security at the gate of the Windsor Castle either forgot to open the gates for the Queen or no one was tending the gates. Whatever the case, though, the last photos taken showing Queen Elizabeth II appeared that they were already entering the premises of the property.

In a similar scoop released by Express UK, it was revealed that the Queen always come to the Windsor Castle to spend most of her weekends in the property. While it was not cleared out what the royal does when she is there, it was assumed that she continues her works in the said castle.

Aside from spending several of her weekends, the publication also noted that Queen Elizabeth II stays in the castle for over a month during the Holy Week. It was even deemed to be the "Easter Court" as she spends the holiday in the property.

The Windsor Castle is also where she spends one week of her husband, Prince Philip's birth month, which is June. This was said to be the time when she attends the Royal Ascot, as well as the Order of the Garter service, which is normally held in St George's Chapel.

The same report also noted that the castle is just a few minutes away from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's home, the Frogmore Cottage. Although it is not confirmed, several reports were seemingly convinced that this is where the Sussex couple is currently staying as they complete the final rounds of their royal engagements before Megxit starts.
