Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally got reunited with Prince William and Kate Middleton at the recent Commonwealth Day Service. It was also the first time that they were seen together in public after the Sussexes' bombshell announcement in January. However, they were claimed to have "uncomfortable body language" and lip-reading expert revealed what the two brothers said while they were at the event that proved the alleged "snub" between them.
Royal commentator Camilla Tominey revealed a Daily Telegraph's lip reader unveiled the two siblings seemed to snub each other, Express reported. In an episode of ITV's This Morning, she said that when the Duke of Sussex sat down, he told his wife that a certain "he" just told him "Hello, Harry" and that was it. The Duchess of Sussex then smiled.
However, it remained to be a big mystery who Prince Harry was referring to. It was either Prince William or other dignitaries that he met at the event, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
When Prince William sat down, on the other hand, he turned to Kate Middleton and told her that the "whole handshaking thing is weird." "We're going to have to put a load of hand gel on after this," he allegedly said.
The Duke of Cambridge's comment was said to be about the ban on greeting people by handshaking due to the coronavirus outbreak. The show's presenter, Phillip Schofield, was in shock, as Holly Willoughby exclaimed, "No, he didn't," as they were both surprised to the lip-reader talent to see what the royals were saying.
Tominey then added that inside the Westminster Abbey, there wasn't much "brotherly-ness" because they didn't talk at all. At the whole event, Prince Harry only uttered that someone said "Hello, Harry" to him, and that was it.
However, according to Mirror Online, Schofield claimed that Prince William showed support to her bother when the Cambridges walked in at the same time as the Sussexes left the ceremony. But, Tominey still questioned their decision not to talk inside the Abbey, knowing the whole world could see their move.
"They kept up appearances, but at the end of the day, the pretense now is over," she added. Meghan Markle is now back in Canada, while Prince Harry remains in the U.K. to fix his future engagements. Anyhow, he is expected to return soon to the Great White North to reunite with his family.
