Possibly the biggest Korean movie in the coming year is Wonderland because of its star-studded and interesting storyline. Though nothing is confirmed yet but based on its casting offers, the production studio definitely has a deep pocket to be able to make an offer to some of the biggest stars in South Korea today. One of them is Gong Yoo.

The Goblin actor has reportedly received a casting offer from the upcoming film Wonderland. According to Newsen (via Soompi), a source from Gong's agency SOOP Management admitted that the actor has indeed received an offer and he is currently reviewing it.

Wonderland is about a simulated universe where a person can reunite with his loved one whom he can no longer interact in reality. Gong is reportedly offered to play the role of a man in his forties who misses his deceased wife.

For the sake of his child, he asks those who control Wonderland to create a simulation of his wife. Chinese actress Tang Wei is also in talks to portray Gong's character's wife.

Park Bo Gum and Suzy were previously revealed to be in talks to appear in the film. The Hallyu stars will reportedly play the role of a young couple who can no longer communicate in real life after Park Bo Gum's character falls into a coma.

Parasite actor Choi Woo Sik and Train to Busan actress Jung Yu Mi are also in talks to play characters who control the events that take place in Wonderland. The movie will be helmed by director Kim Tae Yong, who is married to Tang Wei.

If all of these actors would agree to join the upcoming movie, it would be a reunion for Gong Yoo and his former co-stars. Gong worked with Jung Yu Mi in Train to Busan and Kim Ji Young, Born 1982. He and Suzy also worked together in the 2012 K-drama Big.

Gong Yoo also worked with Choi Woo Sik in Train to Busan. He and Park Bo Gum will appear together in the highly-anticipated movie, Seo Bok.

Reports have it that Wonderland will start production this year. If so, the movie could be released in 2021.

So far, all of the five actors have TV series or movies that they are working on and are expected to drop this year. Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum are doing Seo Bok. Bo Gum is also filming K-drama Record of Youth.

Suzy is set to star in tvN series Startup while Choi Woo Sik has two more movies lined up this year, Time To Hunt and Past Lives. As for Jung Yu Mi, she will star in Netflix's supernatural K-drama The School Nurse Files.
