BTS has been known for their fondness for food and how they become incognito whenever they visit a public place. Just recently, a known chef in New York City revealed how he became a fan of the South Korean group and it's all because of V.
During the recent episode of MBC's Video Star, chef Hooni Kim talked about the famous stars that have dined at his Korean restaurant in New York City and their favorite dishes. His star-studded list of clientele includes Natalie Portman and Drew Barrymore. His most recent Korean celebrity customer was BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V.
Hooni is the owner of Danji, the first Michelin-starred Korean restaurant in the world. He said V brought along a manager to his restaurant. They first ordered three dishes. After finishing the food, there ordered six more. The Seoul-born chef admitted that he was surprised that it was only Taehyung and his manager but they ordered a lot of food.
Hooni added that he regrets not being able to give the "Singularity" singer a special service. He said he wasn't aware at first that V was at his restaurant but he learned that there was someone ordering a lot of food.
He only found out that the 24-year-old artist was there when his 20-year-old employee came to the kitchen giggling. Hooni took a peek at the kitchen door and saw V.
Since he missed the chance to give V a special service, Hooni said he sent a video message to the singer apologizing for his failure. He confessed that he also asked the BTS member to visit his restaurant again.
"I apologize for my mistake. We normally give special service when customers order 9 dishes or more. If you come back again next time, I'll be sure to give you lots of special service," Hooni said.
When the cast asked the chef if he was able to take a photo with V, Hooni explained that Americans value their personal life so much so they don't take photos with celebrities. He added that he also forbid his employees to ask their celebrity customers to have pictures with them.
Meanwhile, many BTS ARMY are pleased to hear that V is eating well. Some hilariously commented that if Taehyung can finish nine dishes with only a manager with him, how much food can the nine members of BTS devour.
It can be recalled that in the recent birthday celebration of BTS member Suga, Jin paid 878,000 won ($759) for their meal. In 2017, Jungkook also treated his bandmates to a Chinese restaurant after his graduation from high school. JK revealed during their appearance in New Yang Nam Show that he paid $800 for their meal.
