Paris Saint-Germain will be making big moves in the summer as reports said the French giants are ready to ship Neymar back to Camp Nou for no less than £136 million, which is significantly lower from the price the club had paid to bring the Brazilian superstar to Parc des Princes in 2017. At the same time, the team said Kylian Mbappe remains not for sale.
The decision has been made by PSG sporting director Leonardo Araujo, who is ready to talk with Barcelona executive on the matter at the end of the season.
Notably, the asking price by PSG will represent a huge discount from the cost of acquiring Neymar three years. The Parisians paid up £198 million to sign up the South American just before the start of the season in 2017, and since then, the striker appeared in 80 games and netted 69 goals.
So far, it looked like Neymar has found a new home in Paris but his stay in the French capital has been marred by rumors of a return to Barcelona and injury woes, according to The Daily Mail.
The latter issue prevented the PSG star from displaying the same level of efficient play seen from him while in Barcelona and winning titles with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, the report said, adding this might have been a factor on PSG's decision to finally let him go.
However, as the Parisians seemed all set to pave the way for Neymar's return to Spain, they will keep a grip on Mbappe, who has long been reported the target of Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
The Sun said PSG will extend the contract of the Frenchman that will expire in 2022. No amount has been mentioned in the report, but it is believed Mbappe will get an offer he cannot refuse - likely higher than the £100 million that the Los Blancos are willing to pay to land him.
In the season to date, the World Cup has proven how important he is by kicking in 23 goals and dishing in nine assists.
The report said PSG would want to work out an extension deal with Mbappe as early as possible to quash the rumors of him leaving the club in favor of Zidane's side.
Mbappe sticking with PSG is not surprising at all as the club is well on its way to win title No. 7 in eight years, indicating that the Frenchman is assured of appearing in Champions League matches in the coming season.
He, too, alongside Neymar, could be part of the side that has a shot to become the European champions as PSG has just advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League by eliminating Borussia Dortmund.
