It is really happening. Park Bo Gum is slated to make a cameo appearance in Itaewon Class finale on March 21 while BTS member V visited his close friend Park Seo Joon on set.
The JTBC K-drama is expected to hit its highest viewership ratings on its last two episodes this weekend. More so with the anticipated appearance of Hallyu actor Park Bo Gum. Currently, Itaewon Class is the second-highest-rated drama of JTBC, next to SKY Castle.
According to Soompi, a source from Park Seo Joon's drama confirmed that Bo Gum will appear in the final episode. However, the description of the character that he will be playing and to whom he is connected in the story remains under wraps.
"It is true that Park Bo Gum is appearing in the final episode of the drama. Please look forward to what kind of role he will be playing," the source said.
The Encounter actor's special appearance in Itaewon Class is a reunion between him and the series director Kim Sung Yoon. Bo Gum previously worked with Kim Sung Yoon in another hit drama, Love in the Moonlight.
Itaewon Class tells the story of an ex-convict, Park Sae Roy (Park Seo Joon) whose life has changed after he got expelled from school for punching a bully and his father died from a road accident. Years after he got out of prison, he opened a bar-restaurant, named DanBam, in Itaewon. He strives towards success with the help of his social media influencer manager, Jo Yi Seo (Kim Da Mi), and staff Choi Seung Kwon (Ryu Kyung Soo), Ma Hyeon Yi (Lee Joo Young), and Kim Toni (Chris Lyon).
K-drama fans are thrilled about the upcoming cameo appearance of Park Bo Gum. Many are expecting an interaction between Seo Joon and Bo Gum's characters. Some are also hoping for a cameo from BTS member V, who is a mutual friend of both actors. The singer also wrote, produced, and sang "Sweet Night," one of the official soundtracks of Itaewon Class.
K-pop and K-drama fans are not discounting this possibility since it was also reported that V visited the set of Itaewon Class on its last day of filming. A source from the drama has confirmed that the "Singularity" crooner dropped by the set to visit his friend Park Seo Joon. It was unclear if he also saw his good pal, Park Bo Gum, on the set.
Park Seo Joon and V are known in the industry as close friends. They first bonded together while filming the K-drama Hwarang in 2016.
Meanwhile, Park Seo Joon shared on Instagram a still photo of him from the drama as the series is bidding goodbye to its fans. In the snap, the actor's character is seen crying in the rain.
The Itaewon Class finale is set to air on March 21 at 10:50 p.m. KST on JTBC. It is also available for streaming worldwide on Netflix.
