EXO member Kai is marking his second year as the global ambassador of luxury fashion brand Gucci. The K-pop idol shared his experience with the brand and also talked about his family.
Kim Jongin, famously called Kai, will be gracing the cover of Elle Korea's April issue. In an interview for its cover story, Kai shared his story when he did the filming for the Gucci Eyewear brand campaign as their global ambassador. The singer admitted that he was a little tense while filming because of the different environment.
"I was nervous because the filming environment was different. I felt like I had returned to my rookie days," he said.
The Super M member also talked about his family in the interview. Kai said he has been spending a lot of time with his family lately and he has been learning a lot from them. The 26-year-old K-pop singer said he put a high value on the life experiences of his mother and older sister.
He was also asked about his motivation for challenging himself to do various fashion styles and concepts. Kai admitted that presenting himself in a specific concept is hard but it is also fun. He also believes that through different concepts, he could be able to put an effort on varied styles that he normally doesn't do.
The Spring Has Come actor has been chosen as the first Korean male global ambassador for Gucci Eyewear in September 2019. Kai's cover for Elle Korea will be available next month.
Meanwhile, aside from Kai's campaign with Gucci, his fans could also look forward to his upcoming solo album. Kai confirmed last year that he is working on his solo debut album.
He also teased the album by giving his fans a glimpse of his new songs. He released a brief practice video for "Spoilers," one of the songs in his upcoming solo album. Moreover, Jongin also performed another song from the album, titled "Confession," during Super M's We Are The Future world concert tour.
Rumors have it that Kai's album would be titled Candy Rough. He is expected to drop his first-ever solo album this year.
EXO's label SM Entertainment earlier announced that the members will be focusing on individual schedules for the moment as some of them will start with military service soon. However, the schedules of EXO and other SM artists in and out of South Korea have been canceled due to coronavirus outbreak across the globe.
