Alleged plans of Apple to release the iPhone 12 with OLED displays may have gained ground following reports that there are now suppliers collaborating to help out the Cupertino company. The two companies plan to pitch and hopefully become suppliers for Apple, more or less raising the chances of seeing some upcoming iPhones with the rumored display.

According to Digitimes, BOE is partnering with General Interface Solutions to become supplies of Apple's rumored 5.4-inch iPhone. There are four alleged iPhone 12 models set to be released in the fall. Aside from the 5.4-inch, there will reportedly be two 6.1-inch models and one sporting a 6.7-inch frame. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that all these models will support 5G and have a new design.

The 5.4-inch model will be the smallest one in the upcoming iPhone clan and will still come with a notched display. Aside from that, it will also come with slim bezels but without the iconic home button. It will also likely be the cheapest in the class. As for the built-in camera, the said iPhone model will have a dual-lens array rather than the forecasted sport triple-lens camera systems with a time-of-flight sensor for 3D sensing, Mac Rumors reported.

As far as the OLED display feature for the 5.4-inch iPhone, it may be best to take it lightly for now. Based on the report by Digitimes, both companies are positioning themselves as supplies. And while that could be good news, it does not necessarily state that Apple would be pushing through and come out with smaller iPhones with OLED displays, Pocket-Lint reported.

Apple has yet to offer some credible information on the 5.4-inch iPhone variant and may take some time. The world is dealing with the coronavirus pandemic and most are advised to stay at home. China has been trying to get up from the pandemic through skeletal personnel. The best news yet is that no domestic cases have been reported for the first time, AFP reported. There are new cases but these are people who came in from abroad.

With the pandemic slowly getting controlled, the development should provide a slightly positive outlook, not only for China but the globe. There are nearly 81,000 infections in China but only 7,263 people remain sick with the COVID-19 disease. And until a cure or the numbers infected go down worldwide, even the debut of the iPhone 12 models could be pushed back for obvious reasons.
