Seungri managed to sparked debate among netizens following his enlistment day. It is because of the mysterious woman who was spotted sitting inside the car with Seungri on the day that he started his military service. Many believe that the girl is actress Yoo Hye Won.
On March 9, Seungri started his military service. Members of the media gathered at the entrance of the 6th Infantry Recruit Training Center in Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province to take a glimpse of the singer.
The singer did not answer questions from the members of the press but his arrival still sparked talks among fans and non-fans of K-pop. It was because of the woman sitting inside his car.
Photos and videos of Seungri emerging from an SUV were shared online. Many eagle-eyed netizens noticed the woman seen sitting inside the SUV as Seungri emerged out from the van. It sparked speculations that the girl could be the one who has been in the dating rumors with Seungri prior to the Burning Sun scandal.
Many also took notice of the man sitting next to Seungri in the SUV. The man was seen hugging a dog. According to reports, the canine looks similar to the one that both Seungri and Hye Won frequently post on their respective Instagram account.
Rumors have it that the two have been romantically involved since June 2017. The actress also posted a photo on social media showing her attending the BIGBANG concert in Dec. 2017.
Now, old photos of the "1, 2, 3!" singer and Yoo Hye Won resurfaced online and went viral after speculations emerged that she could be the girl seen in the video during the former BIGBANG member's enlistment. In one of the photos, the rumored couple was seen hugging outside a hotel in Amsterdam. The snaps were, reportedly, taken in 2018.
It is still unclear if Hye Won was the woman in the car. Many netizens, however, already have negative opinions about it.
"I can't believe someone still loves that guy," one commented.
Seungri was originally set to enlist in March 2019 but it was delayed because he got involved in several scandals. Earlier this year, he got indicted on charges of mediating prostitution services and habitual gambling as well as violating the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act. His trials will proceed in the military courts.
The 29-year-old K-pop idol is set to undergo five weeks of military training before he begins serving as an active-duty soldier. Seungri is expected to finish his military service on Sept. 16, 2021.
