Princess Beatrice's upcoming wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has been plagued with tons of controversies and challenges ever since it was officially announced. In fact, even just after the couple's engagement, their future plans have been already tainted with numerous unfortunate events.

From Prince Andrew's controversial interview to the Sussex couple's royal exit, and now the growing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the United Kingdom, these things have been reported to have affected the York Princess' upcoming wedding.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the event's reception inside the Buckingham Palace will no longer go as planned due to the virus outbreak. Several of the Queen's garden parties have been also cancelled due to the same reason.

But, as for the couple's wedding, which is dated to happen on May 29, no clear updates have been shared yet. Nevertheless, it is believed that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are still planning to push through the wedding.

According to Express UK, if the engaged couple decides to go through the wedding amid the outbreak, senior members of the British Royal Family will not be able to witness the union. As stated, the Church of England has recently announced that only five people will be allowed to be at the wedding ceremony if it is scheduled during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The five people allowed will reportedly include the bride and the groom, the priest, and two witnesses of the union. This means there can only be two guests from both sides, which largely cancels out all of the senior royals' supposed attendance.

Several royal experts claimed that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi may likely have the Duke and Duchess of York as their witnesses. While it is possible considering that the couple has always wanted a private wedding, it remains unknown what their plans will be.

The same publication also noted that this period is a very difficult time for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Aside from all the challenges they have faced in recent months, Edo's family and friends, especially those who are in Italy, are facing a much more unfortunate situation.

Sadly, his home country is now deemed to be the epicenter of the virus. It is also revealed that the number of coronavirus-related deaths in the country has already surpassed China's, which has now climbed up more than 4000.

In the United Kingdom, the case has been also deemed worsening. There are now 3,983 confirmed cases with more than 170 deaths.
