After the first few confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States, the public was wondering why Melania Trump had nothing to say about the crisis. But, upon sharing a few thoughts about the national issue, she was immediately criticized by her followers on social media.

While no response was made on the First Lady's end, the outrage among the netizens seemed to have continued and even developed further in recent days. As reported, the United States President's wife has urged and encouraged everyone to "take advantage" of the nation's stay-at-home period to spend time on their hobbies.

According to The Hill, Melania Trump shared a post on her Twitter account earlier this week and asked the public to "consider" working from home an opportunity to "connect" with loved ones and spend time to work on a "hobby," like "reading a book." She also reportedly followed this post with another statement reminding everyone not to forget to "celebrate special events" amid the virus outbreak.

In the same report, the President's daughter, Ivanka Trump was also revealed to post a similar tweet, which seemingly suggests a few ideas on what to do during the "lockdown" period. She reportedly suggested families with kids to plan a "living room camp out."

Upon sharing these posts on social media, Express UK said that these all sparked criticisms and objections from the public. Many of them even replied to the said posts and directly shared their anger toward the two women, especially Melania Trump.

The majority of the responses reportedly targeted how most American families live on a "paycheck to paycheck" basis, and how the majority of them have been worried about their "rents" and "foods," notably in this period when everyone has been asked to work from home and stay inside their houses.

Some individuals also lambasted her for not even knowing what it is like to have and work a "job," or even "pay bills." It is not a "recreation time" where families can work on hobbies, the majority does not have that kind of "luxury," one netizen explained.

While some of the avid fans and followers "congratulate" Melania Trump, there were also people who criticized her and her husband for "refusing" test kits for the outbreak. "Where is BeBest in that?", one asked.

Previous reports revealed that Donald Trump said in one of his statements that he does not take responsibility for the failures in terms of the shortage of testing kits. Even so, many reportedly believe that the deaths of hundreds of infected individuals in the country should be blamed on the current administration, especially Melania Trump's husband.

Today, in the United States, 18,121 individuals have already tested positive for COVID-19 with a total of 233 deaths.
