Kang Daniel has been chosen as the No. 1 celebrity who is also a successful businessman by polling site ExcitngDC. The young idol and entrepreneur ranked higher JYP Entertainment CEO JY Park and Sandbox Network creator Ddotty.
According to a report by All Kpop, Kang Daniel ranked first in the poll which took place on the week of March 15-21. Out of 3,160 votes cast by netizens, the former WANNA ONE member garnered 1,816 votes which translated to 57.5 percent of the votes. JY Park ranked second with 239 votes while Ddotty, a popular Korean YouTuber received 208 votes out of the total.
Kang Daniel's success may be due to his establishment of his record label, Konnect Entertainment, despite debuting only in 2017 after he won first place in Produce 101 Season 2. He also debuted as a solo artist last year under his label.
Among those who also made it to the winners' circle in the poll were Hong Suk Chun, Jay Park, and Hong Jin Kyung.
According to reports, Kang Daniel will make his comeback with his new album Cyan tonight (March 24) at 6 pm KST. Because he is returning after several months of hiatus to focus on his mental health, the idol is making a comeback in a big way.
Mnet and M2 will be broadcasting Kang Daniel's solo comeback show at 8 pm on March 24, two hours after his album's official release.The comeback showcase entitled Kang Daniel Comeback Show: Cyan will feature Kang Daniel performing his title track 2U live.
He will also be performing all five tracks of his comeback album, including a special version of Jealous.The comeback special will also feature a treat for fans as Kang Daniel rolls out behind the scenes content including a tour of his new home.
In related news, Kang Daniel appeared in Episode 495 of Running Man where he got to promote his album. He appeared on the show with Lee Il Hwa, Hwang Young Hee, and Park Mi Jun.
Lee Kwangsoo also made a comeback to the show after several weeks of sitting out filming because of a car accident. For the episode, Lee Kwang Soo, Kang Daniel, Jun So Min, and Hwang Young Hee competed in the mission as one team.
Amid much laughter, Lee Kwangsoo seemed to enjoy himself as he gave his all to the challenge and even sneaked in a signature betrayal. "It feels like I'm at Running Man now," he said as he got splashed with water in the face as punishment.
