Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are staying in Vancouver, Canada where the borders are currently shut down to non-residents due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in the North American country just weeks after they completed their final royal duties in London.
Insiders told Daily Express that it's a shame Prince Harry and Meghan could not stay cooped in the U.K. just like the rest of the royal family. Apparently, Queen Elizabeth has been missing her grandson a lot, especially in this worrying time.
The Queen is currently in isolation with Prince Philip at the Windsor Castle since Thursday, March 19. It is understood that they will be staying in this country estate until after Easter. The royals arrived in Windsor a week earlier than scheduled as the government announced those above 70 years old must self-isolate and avoid movement, social gatherings, and face-to-face meetings.
According to reports, there are only eight staff members allowed in the Windsor estate compared to its usual 100 staff. The fewer people around the Queen and her husband, the less the risks are to the aging couple since they are most vulnerable to the respiratory illness.
Prince Charles, on the other hand, is in his Highland estate with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. As they are also part of the vulnerable sector, the Prince of Wales has resorted to setting up a digital work-from-home office to touch base with his working team.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan are making themselves quite visible on their Instagram during the lockdown. The Sussexes are using their social media platform to build a digital community as millions of people are told to stay at home.
A recent post on Sussex Royal's Instagram shared the World Health Organizations' recommendations on how to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, such as social distancing, good hygiene and washing hands often. Prince Harry and Meghan offered practical advice because they believe it's the best way to support health workers and make their jobs easier.
The caption of the Instagram post encouraged heeding to the guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus. Prince Harry and Meghan said that WHO's recommendations are basic and familiar but very important especially in this public health crisis.
Sources say that Prince Harry is also worried about his grandparents and father. It is believed that he has made contact with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family. The Duke of Sussex is supposed to return to London by April for a sports event, which has been postponed because of the pandemic.
