Rivaldo wants his former club to focus on one summer signing while setting up for the future. In the next transfer window, Barcelona will need to make Neymar a priority signing and bring him back from Paris, said the Brazilian legend. And Lautaro Martinez should be allowed to grow more in the game before taking a spot at Camp Nou, added the former Barca star.

Martinez is widely reported as a transfer target by Barcelona, supposedly at the request of his fellow Argentine, Barca captain Lionel Messi. However, Rivaldo is convinced the 22-year-old should not be bothered now. He is flourishing with Inter Milan at the moment so he should stay there, said the iconic attacker.

"He's already a valuable player for Inter, and could become a top player in the future, but he's not ready for Barca," Goal reported Rivaldo as saying.

So the spotlight has to be on Neymar and the mission for Barcelona is to ensure the Paris Saint-Germain star will reunite with Messi this year. It was thought that the Brazilian striker will be playing for the Spanish giants again but it did not happen. Rivaldo said his old team has to make sure the transfer back will be realized in the summer.

"They should make every financial effort to get Neymar because it seems PSG are now more open to realistic offers ... They should do everything necessary to sign a player who's already proved his value and wouldn't be a risky signing," said the legendary midfielder.

Rivaldo said investing big on his compatriot would be worth the risk as Neymar is a proven title winner, having captured the Champions League crown with Messi and company.

"He could conquer the Camp Nou fans with his brilliant game," Rivaldo assured.

In line with the task of getting Neymar to play for Barcelona again, Forbes reported that Camp Nou appears to be using a different approach in the efforts to bring the prolific goalscorer back to Spanish soil. Due to the financial constraints brought about by the coronavirus outbreak, the club is looking to get the Brazilian back without spending an obscene amount of money.

If possible, Barca will work on an arrangement that will still see the transfer of Neymar from PSG in the summer but the deal will no longer require payment of €222 million, which was the amount that the Parisians paid in 2018 for Neymar.

The report said PSG might be willing to start on a swap deal with Barcelona, in which Neymar will be sent back to the Catalan side at a discounted price. In exchange for the fewer cash demanded by PSG, Barcelona will need to give up specific players identified by the Paris side.

Some of the names mentioned were Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic, and Antoine Griezmann, all of whom have been previously rumored to be on Barcelona's selling list.
