While some K-pop idols boldly show their tattoos, BTS has not discussed the matter. While RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have no problem flaunting their multiple piercings (J-Hope is the only member with no piercing), the boys only show off their ink if it’s made out of henna.
But just because the BTS boys don’t talk about tattoos, that doesn’t mean that they are not interested in it. In fact, two of the members have permanent ink — Jimin and Jungkook.
In 2014, Jimin shocked ARMYs with a “Nevermind” tattoo across his rib when he took his shirt off during BTS’ performance at MAMAs. Although it was just a temporary tattoo at the time, he seemed to like it a lot as he made it permanent around 2018. He then showed it off in January 2019.
Since Jimin never mentioned the authenticity of the tattoo, some fans argued that it may still be a temporary one. However, the same tattoo was featured in their recent “On” Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima music video, convincing a lot of ARMYs that the “Nevermind” tattoo on his torso is definitely real. (Check out the photo here).
Last month, Jimin started another “real or not” debate when ARMYs spotted a “13” on his left wrist. And recently, the BTS star took to VLive to chat with the fans, where many noticed the same tattoo on the same spot when he put his arms up to gather his hair together. (Check out the photos here and here).
Now, ARMYs are sharing theories about what Jimin’s tattoo means. Since the number 13 is associated with bad luck, many believe that it must mean a lot to him to had it ink to his wrist.
Some ARMYs say that it could be a symbol of his birthday, which is on October 13. Others believe that it’s a symbol of BTS’s debut date, which is June 13.
While ARMYs are extremely curious about the meaning behind Jimin’s new “13” tattoo, they respect his decision on whether or not to address this in the future. For now, fans are just busy making theories about it.
Also, Jimin was spotted with two skin-toned bandages on the back of his arms that Jungkook uses to cover up his tattoos in one of BTS live performances of “On.” (Check out the photo here). Are they tattoos or not? Another theory begins.
