Harry Kane started out with Tottenham as a professional and it would have been ideal to stick with the team where he made his mark as one of the game's best strikers. But with no title to show for his long spell at the club so far, the England captain now appears ready to make a move.

Kane boasts of over 260 appearances with the Spurs with 181 goals to boot but 12 seasons have gone so far and the North London club remains frustrated. The striker has also worked with two notable managers, Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho, but the likelihood of lifting a silverware soon seems bleak.

The 26-year-old could no longer hide his impatience in a recent Instagram live interview where he admitted that the progress Tottenham will achieve in the short term will determine his tenure with the club in the long term.

"I love Spurs, I'll always love Spurs. But it's one of those things - I've always said if I don't feel we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I'm not someone to just stay there for the sake of it," Yahoo Sports reported Kane as saying.

He explained that being with the Spurs for a long time should not be misconstrued as his intention to finish his career with the team. What will happen next will dictate where he will be in the future, Kane suggested.

"It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it's not a definite I'm going to stay there forever - but it's not a no either," said the Spurs star.

Kane, however, is optimistic that the entry of Mourinho last year will do wonders for Tottenham as the Portuguese boss is a proven winner.

"When a manager like him comes in and you know he's won everywhere, I'm sure he has no intentions to not do that at Spurs. From a player's point of view we know we have a top, top manager, so it's up to us to go out there and perform," Kane said.

The striker opening up on Tottenham's current state should further fan the rumors of his departure, according to Metro. It would seem now that in case Kane makes the move, his next destination is Manchester United.

The side though of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which badly needs a goalscorer of Kane's caliber, will be in for a rough ride to complete the signing of the England international. The crucial part is Kane's willingness to initiate the transfer move.

"They know they need the striker to force an exit from north London if Spurs are to sanction a move to Old Trafford," the report said.
